Explore the city by driving through the Civic District, passing by The Padang, Cricket Club, the historic Parliament House, Supreme Court and City Hall.

 

Next, visit the Merlion Park for a session of photo-taking. The Merlion, a mythological creature that is part lion and part fish resting on a crest of waves, was first designed as an emblem for Singapore in 1964 and it quickly became Singapore's icon to the rest of the world.

 

Next, we will stop at the Thian Hock Keng Temple*.  Erected in 1821 by seamen grateful for safe passage, this is one of Singapore's oldest Buddhist-Taoist temples.

 

After a tour of SIngapore's Chinatown, we will head to the Singapore Botanic Gardens to visit the National Orchid Garden, which boasts a sprawling display of 60,000 orchid plants. Since 1859, orchids have been closely associated with the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Over 1000 species and 2,000 hybrids can now found in the Gardens' collection, and every year, more vibrant and enduring hybrids are added on. Stroll through the Garden or take photos of Singapore's national flower.

 

The final stop is Little India, the focal point of Singapore's Indian community. Be dazzled by colourful temples, or be charmed by the architecture of the churches and mosques. Parrot fortune tellers stationed by the five-foot way and tantalizing scents of spices drifting out from restaurants further entices. Don't leave Little India without a temporary Henna tattoo or try "Teh Tarik", a hand pulled cup of tea.
