Begin where Sir Stamford Raffles - Singapore's founder - is believed to have first stepped ashore in 1819, at the Raffles Landing Site, and take photos of Sir Stamford Raffles's statue, standing tall and proud.

 

Next, step into Raffles Hotel - Singapore's most famous Grande Dame born in 1887. Raffles Hotel is one of the world's few 19th century hotels still standing, and which counts renowned writers and movie stars, including Somerset Maugham, Rudyard Kipling and Charlie Chaplin, among its distinguished guests. Check out the hotel's museum, and enjoy either an Afternoon English Tea Buffet or light refreshments.

 

Board a bumboat and cruise along the historic Singapore River. Disembark at Clarke Quay, a riverside festival village where you will visit a pewter gallery to discover the history of pewter and role of tin in the development
